Brač Island

Brač is an island in the Adriatic Sea within Croatia, with an area of 396 square km (153 sq mi).

It makes it the largest island in Dalmatia, and the third largest in the Adriatic.

Brac (pronounced Bra-ch) is 12 km wide and 40 km long. 
 
It is the 3rd largest of more than 1100 islands in Croatia's archipelago. It's just 11 kilometres to mainland Split.

Brač is the island famous for its stone quarries, some of which were used to build the White House in Washington DC, Diocletian’s Palace in Split, many ancient Roman palaces, cathedrals, monasteries and parliament buildings.

Besides the stone, Brač is known for its quality olive oil and beautiful bays.

One of the most famous spots on the island is definitely Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) beach in Bol, whose shape changes with the currents of the wind and sea
