Lake Bled's natural scenery make it one of the world's most popular tourist destinations. 

Lake Bled is situated 1558 feet (475 meters) above the sea level, at the foot of the Julian Alps, 34 miles northwest of the capital city Ljubljana.

Lake Bled has a number of unique features that distinguishes it from other lakes. 

The lake is emerald green in appearance. 

Being an alpine lake, it is surrounded by a variety of high altitude trees. 

Lake Bled is also a health resort due to the mountain climate and pure nature. The source of water for Lake Bled is mainly underground springs. The lake water is used for treating various illnesses through a procedure known as hydropathy. 

The thermal springs found towards the northeastern section of the lake make the lake surprisingly warm, at a temperature about 26*C. 

Bled is a charming Alpine town with the lakeshore, and the imposing Bled Castle that stands atop a 460-foot cliff high above the lake.
