Tour 1: Historical City Tour with Schönbrunn Palace • 3 Hours

This tour gives you an overall impression of the most significant historical sights of Vienna. Along the Ringstrasse we show you numerous magnificent buildings, such as the MAK, the State Opera House, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Natural History Museum, the cultural district the Museums Quartier, the Hofburg (the former Habsburg winter residence), the Parliament, the City Hall and the Burgtheater.

The highlight of this tour will be a visit of the showrooms of Schönbrunn Palace, once the summer residence of the Habsburg family and home of Maria Theresia. On the way back to the opera we pass by the Belvedere Palace, the former summer residence of Prince Eugen, which houses the most precious and the largest Gustav Klimt collection in the world.

As an ideal supplement to our Historical City Tour we invite you to a leisurely boat trip along the Danube. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Prater, the Danube Tower, the United Nations buildings, the famous buildings by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, such as the Kunsthaus. And we get out at his most well known building the Hundertwasserhaus. From the hills of the Vienna Woods you can enjoy a magnificent view over vineyards and the city. On the way back, we pass through the romantic wine growing village of Grinzing.

A half-day tour introduces you to the most beautiful & noteworthy sights of the southern part of the Vienna Woods. We pass the Roman city of Baden which is famous for its thermal springs, and drive through the romantic valley Helenental to the former Mayerling Hunting lodge, (visit of memorial chapel), where Crown Prince Rudolph together with Baronesse Vetsera died tragically in 1889. In the Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz (1133) you visit the medieval cloister which houses the remains of the last Babenberger.  We then pass the Höldrichsmühle and arrive at the Seegrotte. After a boat ride on the largest subterranean lake in Europe you leave the Vienna Woods and return to Vienna

A full-day excursion to the Danube Valley to see with your own eyes the stunning beauty of the Wachau.

Through this romantic scenery full of history and legends the Danube winds its way past charming old villages and steep vineyards. The old castles tell us about the former importance of this trade - and traffic way, one of them - Dürnstein - especially famous, because here King Richard Lion Heart was imprisoned, while waiting for his ransom to arrive from England, raised by his faithful Minstrel Blondel. During a romantic boat-trip the history comes alive. The heart of the Wachau is the old wine-merchants’ town of Krems.

To complete this day of highlights you will visit the town of Melk, the “Cradle of Austria“, the magnificent Benedictine Abbey, a pearl of the Austrian Baroque. Possibility for lunch at the Abbey Restaurant at Melk.

On our way to Mozart‘s town of birth you get acquainted with the beautiful Salzkammergut landscape with its mountains and pristine lakes, where the Emperor Franz Joseph and his family used to spend their holidays.

Skirting the Lake Fuschl and Lake Wolfgang you reach Salzburg.

Salzburg's "Old Town" (Altstadt) has internationally renowned baroque architecture and one of the best-preserved city centers north of the Alps. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Host to three universities and a large population of students, Salzburg is noted for its attractive setting and scenic Alpine backdrop.

Salzburg is also famous as the birthplace of 18th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the mid‑20th century, the city was the setting for parts of the musical play and film The Sound of Music film.

Time for lunch. In the afternoon stroll through the old city & get familiar with the most important sights of this old Bishop‘s Seat. These are the Cathedral, the Festival Hall, St. Peter‘s Abbey Church and its graveyard (tomb of Mozart‘s sister Nannerl). Of course we will show you Mozart‘s birth place in the Getreidegasse. The Edelweiss-Song from the movie Sound of Music will come to your memory, while passing the horse-pond and from the gardens of Mirabell Palace you will have a marvelous view of the Hohensalzburg Fortress

A drive through the enchanting countryside of western Hungary will take you to Budapest, a city rich in traditions, situated on the banks of the Danube (time for lunch). At 5 pm we start the return journey to Vienna. Advance booking and a valid passport required

After a drive through the characteristic landscape of Moravia you reach Prague, the golden city on the banks of the Moldavia, the economic and cultural center of Bohemia. Possibility for lunch. Afterwards drive to Hradschin (Royal Palace). In the afternoon we take you on an extensive city tour, showing you the wonderful panorama of the city from Charles bridge, the National Theatre, the elegant residences on the Moldavien river banks, the Jewish cemetery (individual visit possible), the Parisian street, the old town square and Wenceslas S
quare. There will be certainly enough time for shopping or exploring the old quarters of Prague.
