Day-by-day program:

 

Day 1   SAT     Arrive Warsaw                       Welcome Dinner

Upon arrival in Warsaw, transfer on your own to your central hotel for a 2 nights' stay. After a warm up meeting drive along the Royal Route, Warsaw's most historic street. From the Castle's Square walk to the Old Town where you will be invited for a Welcome Dinner (WD)

 

Day 2   SUN    Warsaw                               Breakfast, Lunch 

Today you will be introduced to the highlights of Warsaw with a half day city tour that includes the Old Town with its impressive Royal Castle, seat of the kings of Poland. You will also visit the area of the former Warsaw Ghetto, see the National Opera House and Town Hall. 

In the evening enjoy a two-part piano recital of works by the famous Polish composer Frederic Chopin (B,L)

 

Day 3   MON    Warsaw - Czestochowa - Zakopane          Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, leave for Zakopane, among the most popular vacation resorts in the Tatra Mountains. En route, stop for sightseeing in Czestochowa to visit the Jasna Gora Monastery and the Black Madonna Shrine with its miraculous icon. Lunch is served at a local restaurant in Czestochowa. In the evening we arrive in Zakopane, the prestigious spot beautifully situated in the valley at the foot of the Tatra mountains. Over the years, Zakopane has grown into a fashionable artists' retreat (B,L)

 

Day 4   TUE    Zakopane - Krakow                          Breakfast, Dinner

Start off your day with a sightseeing tour of Zakopane. Its unique wooden architecture blends well with the natural landscapes. Copied in other parts of Poland, it is known as Zakopianski Style. You will visit the Jaszczurowka Chapel, a great example of the wooden architecture in Zakopane, and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima at Krzeptowki. The Sanctuary was built by the locals of Zakopane to thank the Lady of Fatima for saving the Pope after an attempt on his life. 
Admire the breathtaking views of the Tatras from the top of Gubalowka mountain and shop for souvenirs and crafts of Highlanders. Before we continue on to Krakow, take an exciting rafting trip on the Dunajec River in Pieniny National Park. Upon arrival in Krakow, check-in at your hotel for a 3 nights' stay. Dinner is served at hotel restaurant (B,D)

 

Day 5   WED     Krakow – Auschwitz - Krakow          Breakfast, light Lunch  

Today enjoy a City tour of Krakow featuring Wawel, the Royal Castle, home to three dynasties of Poland’s monarchs. Its stately halls and exquisite chambers are filled with priceless art, furniture and ancient artifacts. The collection of monumental 16th century tapestries is matchless. Also visit the Wawel Cathedral, the place of the cult of St. Stanislaw and St. Jadwiga, Queen of Poland. This is the place where Polish kings were crowned and buried. Its 18 chapels are true architectural masterpieces.

After a short break for coffee & cake at one of the famous cafés of Krakow, we drive to the Old Town with its beautifully restored Main Square.
We'll stop at St. Mary’s Basilica to see the magnificent wooden altar by Wit Stwosz. In the middle of the square is the impressive Cloth Hall built before 1349, with a multitude of shopping stalls inside.
After lunch we drive to Auschwitz to visit the Martyrdom Museum of the former Nazi concentration camp, the infamous factory of death.
The museum is a memorial to the 4 million people of 28 nationalities who perished here during World War II (B, L)

 

Day 6   THU     Krakow      Breakfast, Lunch

Morning is free. In the afternoon travel 15 km southeast of Krakow to visit the world famous Wieliczka Salt Mine, on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

Over a million of tourists visit this sight every year. You will visit richly ornamented Chapel of the Blessed King, walk through exquisite chambers and grottoes all carved in salt. Dinner is served at a local restaurant. Return to Krakow for an overnight (B)

 

Wieliczka Salt Mine visit:

there is a total of 800 steps to climb, of which 350 steps are at a start of the tour when walking down into the mine. The way down into the Mine (those 350 steps) is normally taken by a lift / elevator. Its operation is subject to its technical condition. 

Please make sure you wear comfortable shoes.
The visit is always supervised by a local guide, the miner.

The temperature underground falls within the range of 17-18°C, regardless of the season. We advise you to dress appropriately taking the above in mind. 
Only a small carry-on luggage (maximum dimensions 20 x 20 x 35 cm) is allowed during the tour of the Mine.

Guests may leave larger luggage in a special luggage lockers, but keep in mind that a number of lockers and their size are limited. Museum cannot guarantee the availability of an appropriate locker
