Itinerary:
Day 1: Saturday, Arrive ZAGREB, CROATIA
Upon arrival at Zagreb Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to relax or explore. This evening, meet your fellow travelers at a welcome reception at the hotel (WR)
Day 2: Sunday, ZAGREB
This morning, enjoy a guided city tour featuring the historic Upper Town, St. Mark’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, Parliament, and the Government Palace. The rest of the day is free to explore the winding streets of the Old Town or join an optional excursion to the countryside (B)
Day 3: Monday, to LJUBLJANA & BLED, SLOVENIA
After breakfast, travel to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Enjoy a walking tour of the old city center, highlighting the picturesque open-air Central Market, the Three Bridges, the Baroque Town Hall, and Robba’s Fountain. Continue onward to Bled (B,D)
Day 4: Tuesday, BLED
Nestled beside an Alpine lake and surrounded by high peaks, Bled was "discovered" by travelers in the mid-19th century. Today, it is a vibrant, year-round resort. A sightseeing tour includes the charming town, lakeshore, and panoramic views from Bled Castle, perched on a cliff above the lake. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Perhaps join an optional excursion visiting the small island in the middle of the lake, browse through the shops and boutiques, or simply relax and enjoy the enchanting scenery (B)
Day 5: Wednesday, to POSTOJNA & to OPATIJA & PLITVICE, CROATIA
Today’s journey continues to Postojna, home to one of Europe’s largest cave systems. Explore this fascinating underground world aboard a miniature electric train.
Then, travel to the elegant seaside town of Opatija and enjoy a walking tour of this once-fashionable 19th-century resort, known for its Habsburg-era villas. After some free time, continue to Plitvice Lakes (B,D)
Day 6: Thursday, to SPLIT
After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of the lower lakes in Plitvice Lakes National Park, a stunning natural wonder with sixteen terraced lakes connected by cascading waterfalls and surrounded by lush forest. After the tour, travel to Split for an overnight stay (B,D)
Day 7: Friday, SPLIT
This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Split’s historic inner city, centered around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore remnants of Roman architecture, as well as Renaissance and Gothic structures, including Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and the Cathedral.
The afternoon is free to stroll through the charming streets or relax at the beach (B)
Day 8: Saturday, to DUBROVNIK
After breakfast travel to Dubrovnik. The rest of the day is at leisure (B,D)
Day 9: Sunday, DUBROVNIK
After the breakfast, walking tour of Old Dubrovnik and view the Bell Tower Clock, theRector's Palace,Orlando's Column, Sponza Palace, the Dominican Monastery, and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is free or join us for Optional dinner excursion (B)
Day 10: Monday, to Mostar & Sarajevo
Travel along a scenic route to Mostar for a private walking tour of the city’s highlights, including the iconic Old Bridge, built by the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century, the old bazaar, a mosque, and a traditional Turkish house. Continue to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (B,D)
Day 11: Tuesday, Sarajevo
Today, take a guided tour of Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a prominent centre of culture in the Balkans; learn more about its unique and layered history.
Highlights include Baščaršija Square, Gazi Husrev-bey’s Mosque, Austro-Hungarian architecture, and the Latin Bridge, site of the assassination that sparked World War I. The afternoon is at leisure (B)
Day 12: Wednesday, to BELGRADE
Today we travel to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Dinner & overnight (B,D)
Day 13: Thursday, BELGRADE
Your morning sightseeing tour includes a visit to the imposing Kalemegdan Fortress, dramatically situated at the confluence of the Sava and Danube Rivers. You'll also see Republic Square, Knez Mihailova Street, Saint Sava Temple—the largest Orthodox Church in the city—and Tito’s Memorial. The afternoon is free to explore at your own pace.
