St. Petersburg - Moscow, Cruise Itinerary

 St. Petersburg Moscow
 12 Days

Day 01:  ST PETERSBURG:
Arrive in St. Petersburg and individual transfer to your downtown hotel. Check-in for an overnight. Time to relax and get over the jet lag.   


Day 02: IN ST. PETERSBURG:
Breakfast at hotel. Meet your local English-speaking guide at hotel lobby and leave for a half-day trip outside of St. Petersburg to suburban town of Pushkin to visit the exquisite
Catherine's Palace with its famous Amber Room. After sightseeing, return to St. Petersburg. You will be dropped off at river pier to embark on your cruise liner. Get settled and enjoy Dinner on board (D) 

Day 03: IN ST. PETERSBURG: Today your love affair with the second capital of Russia decorated with world class architecture and grand palaces starts with  a panoramic Sightseeing tour before visiting the unique Peter-and-Paul Fortresscity's historical nucleus, and the final resting place of Russia's Emperors and czarinas (B,L,D) 

Day 04: ST. PETERSBURG: 
Tour the world famous Hermitage Museum, the giant warehouse of world art & culture that comprises over 3 million pieces of priceless art. Return to the ship and set sail from St. Petersburg to  (B,L,D)  


Day 05: MANDROGY:
A Green stop with picturesque surroundings.  

The reconstructed 18th c. village of Mandrogy brings Russia's life vibrantly to life. Inside wooden houses are craftsmen fashioning matryoshkas, the famous nesting dolls; lace and ceramics. Enjoy a traditional Shashlik (Barbeque) picnic lunch ashore (B,L,D) 


Day 06: KIZHI: 
Enjoy a trip to the Kizhi Island's impressive Museum of Wooden Architecture, the UNESCO World Hermitage site, containing the spectacular Church of Transfiguration built entirely out of wood without a single nail (B,L,D) 

Day 07: GORITSY: 
Bathed in history, Goritsy has a medieval feel. Experience how locals live as you learn how traditions and handicraft techniques are preserved here. Travel to the 
Kirill-Belozersky Monastery, visit the Museum of Icons (B,L,D)

Day 08: YAROSLAVL:
Arrive in Yaroslavl, the Heartland of the Golden Ring region. On a 
City tour ride along the banks of the Volga river where you will see the Church of Epiphany. You will also see the remarkable Church of Elijah the Prophet and will visit inside the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonder Worker, and will take an interactive tour of the former Governor's House. Free time to shop for handcrafted souvenirs at a local market (B,L,D)  

 

Day 09: UGLICH:
Disembark for a
walking tour of the provincial town of Uglich, one of the historical towns on the Golden Ring - a loop of small cities and towns where early Russian  culture and traditions shaped up, long before Moscow gained its political power.

On a city tour see the Kremlin of Uglich and visit the Church of St. Dmitry on the Blood,  built on the site where Ivan the Terrible's son Dmitry was mysteriously killed. Depart before dinner and cruise through the night (B,L,D)  

Day 10: MOSCOW:
Morning arrive in Moscow. Get the first taste of Russia's intriguing capital with an introductory 
City sightseeing tour.  
Walk across the historic Red Square with its iconic St Basil’s, the GUM department store, Kremlin walls, world's tallest Cathedral of Christ the Savior, New Maidens Convent [in Russian: Novodevichy Monastery] (exterior), visit Sparrow Hills - these are just a few of city's landmarks you will see. Then relax with some free time (B,L,D)

Day 11: MOSCOW: today visit the nerve center of Russia's political and economic life, the Moscow Kremlin where any visit to Russia must begin. View world's largest Czar Bell and Czar Cannon, the presidential offices, visit inside some of the historic cathedrals on Kremlin's Palace square (B,L,D) 

 

Day 12: MOSCOW: See You Again! 
Today after breakfast your cruise ends. Car transfer to airport for your flight home (B)
