 Day-By-Day Program: 




Day 1        Arrive Minsk, Capital of Belarus 
Transfer independently to Renaissance Minsk Hotel **** for a 3 nights' stay

Day 2        In Minsk 
am: a panoramic city tour of Minsk. The capital city is among the last  undiscovered secrets in Europe, and it will pleasantly surprise you as being so bright, green, clean and safe. City's landmarks include the Old Town, Independence Square and Independence avenue with its astounding collection of post war classicism buildings, the impressive National Library, National Opera & Ballet Theatre, the island of Tears, Trinity district, Janka Kupala Park & more. Afternoon is free from independent activities 

Day 3        In Minsk 
Today you will be offered an optional 6-hour trip to visit UNESCO listed Mir Castle approx. 100 km southeast of Minsk, an impressive fortress where Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance styles blend harmoniously together 


Day 4       Minsk - to - Vilnius, 180 km 

Morning free time. In the afternoon, leave Minsk by coach for Vilnius, the medieval capital of Lithuania. Upon arrival, check-in at the Radisson Blu Lietuva Hotel ****
 

Day 5       In Vilnius 

Vilnius is a delightful medieval city of magnificent churches, art and night clubs. Sightseeing of Vilnius includes a panoramic city tour and a walk through the Old Town - the largest in Europe – with Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Peter-and-Paul Church, St. Anne’s Church, Old University and the Gates of Dawn.

In the afternoon you will be offered an optional trip to Trakai. The tour travels 30 km outside of Vilnius to the medieval capital of Lithuania and visits an impressive Gothic Castle of Trakai of the 14th c., perched atop an island in the lake Galve

 

Day 6        Vilnius - to - Riga 

Today the tour travels to the sophisticated Riga, a capital of Latvia. The first stop is the extraordinary Hill of Crosses, one of the holiest places in Catholic Lithuania.
After crossing into Latvia the tour reaches the elegant Rundale Palace, the former summer residence of the Duke of Courland. After a guided tour of the palace, travel through the rolling hills of Southern Latvia to reach Riga in late afternoon. Check-in at the Mercure Riga Hotel **** (or similar) for a 3 nights' stay.

Founded over 800 years ago, Riga is the largest and the most cosmopolitan of the three Baltic capitals. It is the unrivaled center of the country’s life. 
Riga is also an architectural treasure - it has one of the largest collections of Art Nouveau buildings in the whole of Europe

Day 7         In Riga, optional tours  

Today is a full day for independent activities or perhaps choose one of optional tours. You can book them prior to departing from Canada or you do it locally. Whatever you are comfortable with. 

Suggested Optional day trips: 

a). a 3-hour trip to the Open-air Ethnographic Museum, a beautifully constructed 100 ha site, with farms, churches, windmills and fishermen's houses brought here from all over Latvia and set in a huge pine forest next to Lake Jugla. 

This is where you will learn more about history and tradition of Latvians, and you will see for yourself how attractive Latvian nature can be. 
b). A 4-hour optional trip to the town of Sigulda and Gauja National Park, to enjoy the stunning beauty of it


Day 8          In Riga, sightseeing

A walking tour of the Old Town - a wealth of historic buildings - includes Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Swedish Gate, the Three Brothers, the Large and Small Guilds and the Freedom Monument.

Afternoon is reserved for an optional visit to Jurmala, the vibrant Latvian sea resort famous for its wooden architecture and sandy beaches
In the evening you may choose to attend the Organ Concert at downtown Dome Cathedral 

 

Day 9           Riga -to- Tallinn

The tour continues along the coastal highway to the Estonian summer resort of Parnu. A brief tour of the resort before we continue through the north Estonian land of forests and arrive in Tallinn early afternoon, for a check-in at the Radisson Blu Olympia Hotel **** (or similar)
 
 

Day 10         In Tallinn

Today explore the Old Town of the fairy-tale like medieval Tallinn, where you will see Toompea Castle, Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, medieval Old Town Hall and Great Guild Hall. In the afternoon you will be offered an optional tour to Kadriorg Park and to KUMU award-winning new Estonian art museum


Day 11         Depart Tallinn
