 Day-By-Day Program: 

 

Day 1           Arrive in Warsaw           Saturday 

Arrive in Poland's capital and transfer on your own to the hotel.

8 pm: Welcome dinner at hotel. Overnight at hotel 

 

Day 2           In Warsaw                   Sunday 

Breakfast at hotel. A half-day tour of Warsaw featuring the Royal Route, the Royal Lazienki Park with F.Chopin's monument; the Old Town area with the Royal Castle square, St. John's Cathedral and Market Square.

In the afternoon, leave the hospitable Warsaw and drive some 290 km to Gdansk, a port city of the Baltic coast of Poland. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure

 

Day 3          Gdansk           Monday

Breakfast at hotel. Start your day with a half-day tour of Gdansk - Sopot. Sightseeing of Gdansk features Main Town, reconstructed after WW II, with colorful facades of Long Market, now home to shops and restaurants. Nearby is the Neptune Fountain, a 17th century symbol of the city. Visit Dluga Street to find out that Gdansk is also a centre of the world's amber trade, and boutiques throughout the city proudly sell the ossified resin.  

Gdansk is also famous for its Solidarity movement. On Solidarity Square, the European Solidarity Centre gives you the story of the Shipyard workers' Union that brought down Poland's Communist regime.     

Gothic St. Mary's Church that holds 20,000 people, and the National Maritime Museum on the Motlawa Canal are also among key sights of Gdansk. 

Drive to Oliwa to visit Oliwa Cathedral famous for Rococo pipe organ. You will also travel to the neighboring town of Sopot, a popular summertime resort area, with a wide beach and the pier being the longest in Europe. Overnight in Gdansk

 

Day 4          Gdansk - Malbork - Torun          Tuesday 

After breakfast at hotel we leave for the medieval town of Torun.

Before reaching Torun, you will have a stopover in Malbork to explore the imposing Teutonic Knights Castle.   

Later arrive in Torun, one of the oldest cities of Poland. It is also the birthplace of Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. The medieval part of the city is proudly on the UNESCO World Heritage list. In 2007 Torun was also added to the List of Seven Wonders of Poland. 

Do the sightseeing of Torun: visit the Old Town, a unique example of Gothic architecture: churches, burghers houses, defensive walls. See the statues of Nicolaus Copernicus and Town Hall in Old Town Market Square 

 

Day 5          Torun - Wroclaw          Wednesday

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Wroclaw. In the afternoon sightseeing of Wroclaw, a guided tour of the Old Town with the tenement houses and Town Hall on the Market Square, visit to Ostrow Tumski, the oldest in the city

  

Day 6         Wroclaw - Czestochowa - Auschwitz - Krakow          Thursday

Breakfast at hotel. Depart for Krakow via Czestochowa and Auschwitz. En route visit the famous Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa with the Black Madonna. Transfer to Auschiwitz, for a visit to the former Nazi concentration camp of WW II. After sightseeing, drive to Krakow. Overnight at hotel in Krakow

 

Day 7          In Krakow          Friday

 Breakfast at hotel. A half-day tour of Krakow including the Wawel Hill with the visit to the Royal Castle Chambers, the Old Town area with the Barbican, Florianska Gate and Collegium Maius courtyard (Jagiellonian University, the oldest in Europe), Old Town Market Square with the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) and entrance to St. Mary's Church 

 

Day 8           Depart Krakow            Saturday

After breakfast your tour ends. Transfer on your own to airport to continue your
