Day 1   SAT     ARRIVE WARSAW

Welcome Dinner

Upon arrival in Warsaw, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a 2 nights' stay. After a warm up meeting drive along the Royal Route, Warsaw's most historic street. From the Castle's Square walk to the Old Town where you will be invited for a Welcome Dinner (WD)

 

Day 2   SUN      IN WARSAW

Breakfast, Lunch

Today you will be introduced to the highlights of Warsaw with a half day city tour that includes the Old Town with its impressive Royal Castle, seat of the kings of Poland. You will also visit the area of the former Warsaw Ghetto, see the National Opera House and Town Hall. Stop for a break at a popular Warsaw cafe to taste a typical Paczek pastry. In the evening enjoy a piano recital of works by the famous Polish composer Frederic Chopin. A glass of sparkling wine is served (B,L)

 

Day 3    MON     WARSAW - CZESTOCHOWA - ZAKOPANE

Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast leave for Zakopane, one of the most popular vacation resorts beautifully located in the foothills of the Tatra Mountains. 

En route, stop for sightseeing in Czestochowa to visit the Jasna Gora Monastery and the Black Madonna Shrine with its miraculous icon. Lunch in Czestochowa.

In the evening arrive in lovely Zakopane situated in the valley at the foot of the majestic mountains (B,L)

Day 4   TUE       IN ZAKOPANE

Breakfast, Dinner 

In the morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of Zakopane. The unique architecture of this beautiful resort town harmoniously blends with the natural landscapes.

The town is also known for its turn-of-the-20th-century wooden chalets, symbols of Zakopane-style architecture. 
You will visit the Jaszczurowka Chapel, a great example of the wooden architecture in Zakopane, and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima at Krzeptowki. The Sanctuary was built by the locals to thank the Lady of Fatima for saving the Pope after an attempt on his life.

Free time to admire the breathtaking views of the Tatras from the top of Gubalowka Mountain, shop for souvenirs and crafts of the Highlanders. Tonight enjoy dinner in a typical Highlanders Inn with a Folklore show (B,D)

 

Day 5   WED      ZAKOPANE - KRAKOW

Breakfast, Dinner 

Spend a relaxing day on your own and take an exciting rafting trip on the Dunajec river in the Pieniny National Park. After lunch the tour leaves for Krakow, the Cultural Capital of Poland.
Krakow is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and is proudly on the UNESCO List of the 12 great historic cities of the world. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel for a 3 nights' stay (B,D)

 

Day 6   THU       IN KRAKOW

Breakfast, Dinner

For nearly 6 centuries Krakow was the capital of Poland, and it continues to display its deep and varied roots. Start your love affair with Krakow with an orientation City tour.
City's Highlights include the magnificent Market Square, one of the biggest in Europe; the Cloth Hall that houses a collection of Polish paintings and handicrafts; Saint Mary's Church with its magnificent 15th c. wooden altar by Wit Stwosz; the Collegium Maius with Gothic arcades.  

Your City tour also features the medieval Wawel Royal Castle, the home to three dynasties of Polish monarchs. Walk through its stately halls and exquisite chambers. The collection of monumental 16th century tapestry here is matchless.
You will also visit the historical Wawel Cathedral. Being over 900 years old, the Cathedral is the Polish national sanctuary and has traditionally served as coronation site of the Polish monarchs. 

Share city’s buzzing cafe culture during your coffee & cake break at one of Krakow's famous caféterias. Afternoon is free. Dinner is served in Krakow's Old Town (B,D)   


Day 7   FRI       KRAKOW - AUSCHWITZ - WADOWICE - KRAKOW

Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, leave for Auschwitz, the site of the former Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. Visit the infamous death factory, now preserved as a memorial to the 4 million people of 28 nationalities who perished here during WW II. In the afternoon, return to Krakow via Wadowice, the birthplace of John Paul II. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the house where the Pope was born and grew up. Return to Krakow and free time (B,L)

 

Day 8   SAT      KRAKOW - WIELICZKA - LOWICZ - WARSAW

Breakfast, Dinner

This morning we drive to Wieliczka to see the underground world of Europe's oldest salt mine. Admire the salt chambers, monuments and chapels all carved from salt by generations of Polish miners. You will be fascinated by the St. Kinga Chapel with its beautiful chandeliers, a real masterpiece of salt work art. After lunch on your own, we depart for Warsaw. En route, we stop in Lowicz, a typical Mazovian town famous for colorful costumes and paper cut outs. You will be invited for a family hosted dinner in a charming cottage at the foot of the former Lowicz Castle (B,D)  

 

Day 9   SUN     WARSAW        SEE YOU AGAIN
