 Day-By-Day Program: 

 

Day 01     April 28     Welcome to Moscow, Russia's stately Capital 

Upon arrival in Moscow, you will be met at the airport and assisted in receiving your transfer to the hotel.  

In the evening you will be driven around Moscow centre to marvel Moscow by night, to enjoy its exquisitely illuminated landmarks. You will notice that Moscow is clearly on a par with Europe’s other great metropolitan cities such as Madrid and Paris. Take a walk across the famous Red Square and take a quick tour of Moscow Metro stations known for exceptional cleanliness, effectiveness and palatial decor.

Day 02     April 29     All Aboard

In the morning you take an informative tour of Moscow which includes the imposing Kremlin Grounds and its magnificent cathedrals.

Later friendly train conductors welcome you on board with a delicious tea or even vodka. As you settle into your private car, your train gets underway

Day 03     April 30     Kazan and Kazan Kremlin 
In the morning arrive in Kazan, the capital of Russian Autonomous republic of Tatarstan. You take a tour of the Kazan Kremlin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its wonderful panoramic view over the Volga, where you learn about the turbulent history of the relationship between the Tatars, the Cossacks and the Russians. In the evening, your train leaves the hospitable Kazan eastward

Day 04     May 01     Yekaterinburg & the Ural Mountains  

Your train stops around noon in Yekaterinburg, the historical capital of the Urals.
The city is remembered as the place where Czar Nicholas II and his family met their last days in 1918. 
During a brief city tour you see the Church of All Saints, which was built in 2003 in commemoration of that tragic historic event. You also visit the city center, whose many buildings were painstakingly renovated in 2009. Return on board your train to continue your journey eastward. Cross the Ural mountains, the natural divide between Europe and Asia. Enter the endless spans of mysterious Siberia and enjoy the ever changing landscape. Overnight on board the train (B,L,D)

  

Day 05     May 02     Novosibirsk, the Heart of Siberia 

Arrive in Novosibirsk, in the middle of Siberia. A panoramic city tour will introduce you to the landmarks of this bustling Siberian city with a population over a million, also known as the scientific and Hi-Tech centre in eastern Siberia. You will be impressed by the enormous Trans-Siberian Monument here and the view of the mighty Ob River. Overnight on board the train (B,L,D)

 

Day 06     May 03

Cross the mighty Yenisei River and enjoy the journey through Siberia. Vodka tasting accompanied by Russian snacks and traditional toasts offers you an enjoyable opportunity to combine fun and local hospitality. Your train passes by villages with typical wooden houses and through birch forests set against the background of impressive mountain ranges. Overnight on board the train (B,L,D)

 

Day 07     May 04     Lake Baikal & Lystvyanka settlement  

In the morning arrive in Irkutsk and get transferred (90 km) to the legendary Lake Baikal, the deepest and the largest freshwater reservoir in the world. Enjoy a 1-hour boat ride on the lake and visit the village of Listvyanka. Weather permitting, dinner is served as a picnic on the shores of Lake Baikal. Overnight at Hotel Mayak (B,L,D) 

 

Day 08     May 05     Irkutsk       

In the morning visit Taltsy open-air museum of peasant life and Wooden architecture. Return to Irkutsk, the capital of Eastern Siberia during pre-revolutionary times. During your City tour you will see, - among other things, - picturesque Siberian wooden houses and a memorial to Czar Alexander III, the pioneer of the Trans-Siberian Railroad project. In the evening your journey continues—next stop Ulan-Ude. Overnight on board the train (B,L,D)

  

Day 09      May 06     Ulan Ude

After arrival in Ulan Ude you are transferred to your hotel for an overnight. Visit an Old Believers' village. The religious group living here prefers colorfully painted wooden buildings and known for their distinctive traditional dress. Overnight at Hotel Geser (B,L,D)

 

Day 10 & Day 11      May 07 & May 08 

After breakfast you head to the train station and then continue further east, crossing the most fertile lands on this side of Lake Baikal. You travel through the city of Chita, the starting point of the Trans-Manchurian Railroad; the junction to the Baikal-Amur Mainline

Day 12     May 09     Russia's Far East: Khabarovsk and Amur River 

This afternoon you arrive in Khabarovsk. During the guided bus tour of the city you visit the Regional Museum as well as the bluff over the Amur River, with its wide sandy beaches and view of China. Later you enjoy a boat ride on the Amur River. Overnight: Hotel Best Eastern Parus (B,L,D)

 

Day 13     May 10    Khechzyr Nature Reserve  

After breakfast you go on an excursion to the extraordinary Khechzyr Nature Reserve where passengers have an opportunity to go on a hike through the taiga along the shores of the Amur river. In the early evening you depart for Vladivostok. Overnight on board the train (B,L,D)

 

Day 14     May 11     Vladivostok, on the edge of Russia's Pacific       

In the morning arrive in Vladivostok. A guided City tour includes the Soviet submarine S-56 museum ship, the picturesque central station, and a memorial to the foundation of the Trans-Siberian Railroad. In the afternoon a boat excursion around Vladivostok Harbor, Russia’s largest Pacific port. Overnight: Hotel Best Eastern Versailles (B,L,D)
 

Day 15      May 12        Depart Vladivostok, See You Again  

After breakfast you are transferred to the airport for your flight home (B)
