Day 02 | October 04 | In Moscow:            
Your travels start off in the stately capital of Russia. Explore the city with a sightseeing tour before visiting the world famous Red Square with its iconic St Basil's Cathedral, the GUM store, walk along the historical Kremlin Wall, past the Lenin Mausoleum, Alexander Garden and more (B,L,D)

Day 04 | October 06 | Uglich:                        16.00 - 19.00

This afternoon disembark for your walking tour through the history-filled provincial village of Uglich, one of the Golden Ring cities, - ancient towns that preserve the memory of Russia's historical events. See the former Kremlin of Uglich and visit the Chapel of St. Dmitry On the Spilled Blood, built on the site where Ivan the Terrible's son Dmitry was mysteriously killed. Depart before dinner. Day 05 | October 07 | Yaroslavl                 8.00 - 22.00
Arrive in Yaroslavl, the Heart of the Golden Ring. 
During your city tour ride along the river banks where you can view the Church of the Epiphany and the Church of St. Elijah the Prophet with some of the most impressive architecture in the Golden Ring. Free time to shop for handcrafted souvenirs before returning to your ship. In the afternoon, an optional tour to Rostov Veliky, a historical town on the Golden Ring, known for its white-stoned Kremlin with bell ringing (B,L,D) 


Day 06 | October 08 | Kostroma                      8.00-21.00 
City tour of Kostroma, a historical town on the Golden Ring, the birthplace of the Romanov Dynasty, a treasure trove of history and art. Visit the historical Ipatiev Monastery (B,L,D) 


Day 07 | October 09 | Plyos:                                8.00 - 19.00
Your cruise ship stops in Plyos for a Green stop. Free time to stroll along the winding streets of this quaint town.

For many people Plyos might be a highlight. Plyos is a very peaceful tranquil town of wooden houses and hilly streets winding down to the Volga waterfront. 

The town also played a role as artists' retreat. Isaak Levitan, Russia's most celebrated landscape artist, found inspiration here in the summers of 1888 to 1890. 

For many artists Plyos was one of the favorite painting subjects (B,L,D)

Day 08 | October 10 | Nizhny Novgorod:        15.00 - 19.00                                       

City Tour, Kremlin Grounds 
Formerly known as the town of Gorky, it is among the major highlights of your cruise. Nizhny Novgorod has a remarkable history and today it is Russia’s ‘third capital’, with its mighty Kremlin, impressive views along the Volga River and the Sakharov Museum. 
The city is also known as the booming trading & research center of Russia (B,L,D)


Day 09 | October 11 | Kazan:                              15.30 - 20.00

The city turned 1000 years old and is among the most ancient, colorful and multi-cultural in the whole of Russia. Kazan is the Tatar capital, with a stunning World Heritage-listed Kremlin (B,L,D)



Day 10 | October 12 | Ulyanovsk:                       9.00 - 18.00
Get introduced to Ulyanovsk with a City tour. The town is a typical of the 19th c. provincial Russia. Also known for being the birthplace and boyhood home of Lenin (born Vladimir Y. Ulyanov). The town was also nicknamed as 'Nobles' Nest', where Russia's rich used to retire for their holidays (B,L,D)  


Day 11 | October 13 | Samara:                           9.00 - 13.00 

 The city is a popular travel destination largely due to the Volga River beauty which is at its best here. This city is a gem of a provincial life in Russia and distinguished for being extremely clean, well maintained and very user friendly for visitors. 

Samara is a leading industrial center in the Volga area, and is among the top ten Russian cities in national income (B,L,D)

October 14 | Saratov:                             10.30 - 14.00 

One of the largest cities in the Volga region, Saratov is intrinsically linked to the Volga river. It is a pleasant city with a thriving commercial centre and an attractive green river embankment. A large community of ethnic Germans, mostly farmers, settled along the Volga around Saratov. The first man in space, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, lived in Saratov and studied at the university here (B,L,D)



Day 13 | October 15 | Volgograd:                       9.00 - 13.00

this city, formerly Stalingrad, is a sacred site of Russia’s bloodiest battle during the World War II that marked the turning point in crushing Hitler plans to conquer Russia (B,L,D)

Day 15 | October 17 | Astrakhan:                            8.30 - 20.00

in the morning arrive in Astrakhan, world's caviar capital and fishing capital of the Western Russia - set at the mouth of the Volga, where it flows into the Caspian Sea. 
You will be introduced to Astrakhan with a City tour, visit a local fortress built during the reign of Ivan the Terrible, visit a lively market and a well-preserved Kremlin

The heart and soul of Rostov-on-Don and its region is the Don River. It flows through the city and makes it remarkably beautiful and peaceful.
The Don River and its inhabitants who historically lived along its banks over the centuries - called Cossacks - were celebrated in Mikhail Sholokhov’s novels of the Russian Civil War, And Quiet Flows the Don
